Home Killarney Provincial Park

Killarney Provincial Park while not as popular as Algonquin, is renowned for its sapphire lakes and breathtaking vistas.  The campground is located at the George Lake; however, its main draw, the canoe-in backcountry campers, are looking to experience the beauty and solitude of the wilderness.  These campers will be looking to stay away from the campground and enter the lake system at one of the many entrances.

The Park is a thriving ecosystem, home to many species including black bears, moose, wolves as well as various others.  All the portage routes are well maintained by the junior forest rangers as well as the many spectactular trails.

While there are many interesting points of interest, there are a few that stand out.  The main one of course being Silver Peak, which is a large ridge that hikers can climb to get a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.  Belle lake has a good access point to the trails leading up to it.  On George Lake there is a large rock known as Turtle Rock which is a great area for swimming or diving off the rock itself.

The following is a map of the lake system in Killarney Provincial Park.
